And studies show, that though your emotional well being may take a toll in the short term, the long term benefit may outweigh the harm of being in a toxic marriage.

Amber Dorsey is a freelance writer, photographer and creative director located in Southern California.
She is the owner of Elevated FlatLays, a creative company that specializes in compelling, unique and captivating high quality brand content within the wellness, lifestyle, and beauty categories for both cannabis and ancillary brands. With over a decade of experience in the world of online influencers, writers and creatives she considers herself a social media magician and the originator of the #flatlayslay and has created a name for herself as a flat lay specialist with her unique style. Over the last two years Amber began to shift her focus from creating content for herself to assisting other women owned small businesses cultivate their brand content within the digital space.
She started shooting most of her photos on her cell phone with flimsy poster board backdrops and limited resources and was still able to create content for brands like OshKosh B’Gosh and BoldenUSA. She’s since upgraded her backdrops and camera equipment although she still loves a good phone flatlay.
Amber is also an active champion of the cannabis industry and normalizing its use among women, (mother’s in particular) and letting go of the stigmas that are attached to it. She’s taught flat lay courses at Alt Summit and HighHerStakes Conference to both influencers, and business owners with requests for more sessions.
Amber believes in supporting women owned businesses and loves that her business allows other women to take something off of their plates and focus on what they need to grow within their industry.
Aside from creating stunning imagery with her phone, Amber is also the Creative Director of Jus’ Peachie Retreats, a wellness company that provides Black and Brown women with tools to heal themselves and their bloodlines using ancestral modalities.
A cannabis educator, writer, content creator, and flatlay photography specialist, Amber has been a consumer for over 20 years and aims to de-stigmatize and normalize cannabis use and consumption (particularly for Black women and for MOTHERS) Amber loves sharing women in weed stories and working with women in the cannabis space as she sees how women are a force in the industry but often overlooked in preference of a more sexualized content/approach.
She believes in sharing the facts while bringing the humor and fun and as a result began to host a monthly IG Live show called CannaKickIt where she talks about all things cannabis. From highlighting products and companies to discussing personal experiences, sharing dispensary hauls, educational materials and behind the scenes of what goes into your favorite content creation.
When she’s not writing on her Substack Shenanigans & Subplots https://fromcarpools2cocktails.substack.com/ , shooting or creating content, you can find her tending to her plant babies, hanging out with her kids or eating tacos.
